Winter Wanderings: Snowshoing at Bunker Hills

The sun was out, the sky was blue and it was only -8 outside. Perfect weather for snowshoeing, photography and even scoring a nice frosty beard after a couple hours of stomping around in the snow.  Bunker Hills is basically in my backyard, so it’s often my first choice if I only have a few hours to get outside.  I wasn’t intending on taking many photos, but I always bring my camera along for the ride in hopes that something presents itself to me.  If there was a theme to my hike today, it would be “sunshine”.  The warmth of the sun was everywhere and I really needed to just soak as much of it up as I could.

FYI….if you look at the self portrait, you’ll notice the cut/gash between my eyes. That would be the result of hitting myself in the head with my van’s rear door/lift gate. Thank goodness for medical superglue and a supportive wife.
