Unexpected Sunset in Andover

Over the years, I’ve learned that some of the best sunsets happen 10-20 minutes after the sun has dropped below the horizon. When I arrived at the lake, the sky was mostly overcast with flat lighting. I did notice that the clouds were moving across my composition and I hoped that the timing would work in my favor. The actual sunset itself wasn’t very nice, so I decided to fly my drone around to kill some time. As I was coming back to land, the sun was able to break free from the dense clouds and highlighted the remaining cloud layers. I really didn’t expect a photo from that night and it was a good reminder to never leave until it is completely dark out.
