My wife suggested that tonight would be a good night for an evening snowshoe hike with Gracie. So we geared up and hit the snow for a mini-adventure at a prairie preserve near our house. We could not have asked for a more perfect night and while we had headlamps with, they were not needed and we chose to just enjoy the ambient light and sounds around us for most of the hike. After about 45 minutes of stomping around in deep snow and investigating animal tracks, she was exhausted and I’m certain she’ll sleep really well tonight.
When Grace turned four, I started to teach her how to take photos and some of the basic ideas behind composition. Now that she is nearly seven, I’ve begun to show her about the excitement of going out and finding the photos….especially when its off the beaten path. I can’t wait until she is old enough to have her own legit camera setup of her own and will come to be all excited about the images she created.
