Amazon prime was having a sale on Rokinon lenses for Prime Day, so I picked up the 14mm 2.8 that I have had my eye on for a while. I’m neck deep in editing, so I haven’t had a chance to put it through a real test yet, but I’m impressed with it so far. The focus ring is really smooth, but has a pretty long throw on it. I can see that taking some getting used to. The manual aperture ring has a very pronounced click throughout the range. The overall build feels really solid and the lens cap clicks in securely on the end of the built in petal hood. Callan was in the living room when I unboxed it, so I did a couple of test shots with him. This lens really feels like a throwback to my early years of shooting with a Canon FT QL.
I was able to get out for around 10 minutes to test it out a little more. This lens is going to be a really fun lens to have in my bag.
